leaders in the fields of politics, business, media,
academia, and civil society organizations from across the
Muslim world and the United States will converge in Doha for
the annual US-Islamic World Forum due to open on Saturday 16
until 18 February 2008.
The three-day
gathering will try to bridge the cultural and intellectual
divide between the United States and the Muslim World
through the unique platform it provides for a meaningful
dialogue and opinion-sharing.
The forum was
initiated at a generous initiative of His Highness the Emir
of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in 2004 to allow
policy-makers, thinkers and opinion-shapers find common
grounds for mutual understanding and build bridges of
cooperation instead of hostilities.
